Best Month for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

The best times for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour are during Autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). During these seasons, the climatic conditions in  Himalayan regions are favorable with clear skies, stable weather and dry paths.

Autumn is one of the most popular seasons for this helicopter tour. It offers incredible scenery. The air is fresh during these months, and visibility is great as monsoon rains in previous months clear the dust. So, you will be rewarded with the clearest views of Everest and other nearby snowy mountains.

In addition to the incredible views, the chances of experiencing delays or cancellations due to unstable weather conditions are also minimal. The tour can be concluded smoothly as intended.

Another good time for the EBC helicopter tour is Spring. This season is a favorite among travelers who wish to join this helicopter tour in the Khumbu region. At this time, the skies are clear blue throughout the morning. So, you will be treated to mesmerizing views of surrounding snowy peaks.

In addition, you can also get to see the colorful blooming rhododendrons across the hilly section from a bird’s-eye perspective, which is truly fascinating. The weather is also calm and ideal for operating flights.

The helicopter will have a stopover of 10 minutes for refueling at Lukla airport. During this stopover period, you can step out of the helicopter, enjoy the cool air of high altitude and may even get a chance to see aircraft taking off or landing at the renowned Lukla airport.
